Early Music Classes

All of our early childhood movement & music classes for babies, toddlers & kids include the world renowned Musikgarten curriculum to encourage music literacy and appreciation from infancy.  If you want to create an appreciation for music, movement, and all things creative in your child there is no better program, and no better time to start!  Please see below for our selection of music and movement classes for babies, toddlers and kids ages 3-7.

Baby Music Discoverers

  • Age: 0-18  Months
  • Tuition: $89
  • Length of class: 45 minutes

Play musically with your baby through bouncing and rocking songs, wiggle and peek-a-boo games, dancing, moving and singing. Musical play activities are designed to increase your child’s curiosity about music, to develop listening skills and a sense of beat, and to establish the foundation for singing and musical thought. Also included in this class are infant massage techniques and baby sign language to encourage baby/caregiver bonding and communication. There is no better time to introduce your child to music than in the brief but important infancy stage.

Preschool Music Adventurers

  • Age: 3-5 Years
  • Tuition: $105
  • Length of class: 60 minutes

Celebrate your child’s love of nature and growing independence through activities which focus on the seasons of the year. Classes are designed to build attention and self expression and include singing, poetry, moving, focused listening, musical games, musical instruments, and creative storytelling. This program begins to develop strength throughout the body, encouraging whole body awareness, which is a perfect segue into dance classes. Using our dramatic games we also incorporate emotional awareness and development. These classes remain a favourite in our satellite schools as they progress as stories from start to finish. These classes are perfect for children who are just beginning to establish social groups. Parents do not attend these classes but will often be invited in to see what we’ve been working on.

Musical Theatre Day Camps

Musical Theatre Day Camps at The Stage are an exciting and engaging activity for students during the Spring & Summer breaks. Each week, students will participate in creating a musical theatre production; classes include singing, dancing and acting, as well as costumes, set and props design and production.

Our Junior Day Camps are a great way for children to try out theatre without having to commit to a longer course. If your child loves playing dress up and make believe, creates skits for Grandma and Grandpa to watch in the living room, or is simply looking for a new experience, this is the place to be! Our program provides a supportive environment for your child to make new friends and develop self esteem and self confidence. With small class sizes we are able to ensure everyone is offered a fun challenge whether this is their first time or fifteenth time on stage.

Our Intermediate Day Camps offer students ages 10-13 a challenge designed for both beginners and those with more experience. While still offering the same engaging programming as our Junior camps, and still while teaching through game play and exploration, the Intermediate camps present a longer script and enjoy level of dance and music that is suited to an older age group. The excitement is only magnified with the shorter duration of the camp giving our students a chance to give it their all and present their final production, in the form of a community performance, after only 4 days of preparation. This program is a great introduction into our Junior Musical Theatre 2 program.
