Drop-off & Pick-ups
Drop off : Students may be dropped off no earlier than 8:45. The doors will not be unlocked until this time and we cannot guarantee a staff member will be onsite if you arrive earlier.
Pick up: You must enter to the building to pick up your child. We will not release any child without an adult present.
SOCIAL DISTANCE DROP OFF: All students are allowed to arrive to the parking lot no earlier than 8:45am. We are asking students to line up against the building with their parents while maintaining social distance. Students will be let in one at a time and parents will be asked to initial a daily waiver confirming that a health assessment has been done for each child each day.
Parents will sign their child in using the sign in sheet hanging on the front door. No parents are permitted to enter the studio space. (This has been one of the hardest parts about the Covid restrictions but it is important that we minimize the number of adults in our space)
Students will be assigned their starting room and enter through the appropriate doors. Don’t worry! A teacher will be there to direct students to the correct door and explain where to put their belongings. Students will also be asked to sanitize their hands upon entry.
SOCIAL DISTANCE PICK UP: From 4:00-4:15pm students will be released to parents at the door of the studio. We will require parents to be visible to instructors before we will release them into the parking lot.
Parents will not be permitted in to the building at drop off and pick up in order to reduce the number of people in the space each day.
Late Arrival
If you arrive late the door to our building will be locked. Please ring the doorbell until someone is able to let you in.
Security
During our camps our studio door is locked. We cannot accept visits from parents, or anyone, at this time. If you are dropping something off for your child (i.e. forgotten lunch kit or water bottle) You will need to ring one or both of the doorbells located outside the door to the building. Please ring until someone comes to greet you.
Parking
Please click here for information regarding parking at our location
Waiver
Please fill out this digital waiver prior to the first class.
If you are unable to complete the waiver for any reason please email stefanie@thestagenewwest.ca
***Notice of Unique Learning Needs***
It is vital your child’s success that teachers are prepared for any unique learning needs your child may have. Failing to include important learning, emotional, or social challenges your child has will greatly effect your child’s experience. Staff are prepared to work very closely with parents of children who require additional support but only if we are told in advance the best ways to work with and communicate with your child. If your child has autism, ADD, ADHD, Sensory Processing Needs or other important developmental characteristics please include as much information in your child’s file as possible. We cannot support what we do not know or understand and rely on parents to be forthcoming with this information.
At The Stage we want all of our students to feel welcomed and included. Your child will be met with the most supportive and understanding team of educators.
What to Bring
Snacks & Lunch
Please make sure your child brings a healthy lunch and snacks for the day. We will be taking a snack break in the morning, lunch break around 12:00pm. Please consider that our day is longer than an average school day so more sustenance may be required. Please bring a refillable water bottle that arrives full to use throughout the day. Candy is not permitted and if it is sent we will ask students to save it until the end of the day.
Allergies
If your child has allergies it is mandatory that you fill in this Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan. Please arrive with this document and give it to your teacher.
Allergy Aware Studio
Spring/Summer Instructors have completed 3 Allergy Aware courses online in preparation for day camp programs.
Please note that our programs are peanut/tree nut free classes. We also request no sesame seed products and seafood as these are common allergens.
All snacks and lunches are checked before eating. Any snacks that could pose an allergy risk will be left unopened and returned home. There is no sharing of food items or utensils unless it’s among siblings with no allergies.
**If you send your child with WOW Butter or a seed butter please be sure to include a note that identifies this product as safe for our studio. If you do not send a note your child will not be allowed to eat the product until we have called you to confirm that it is, in fact, wow butter**
What NOT to Bring
We must insist that all personal items like stuffed animals or other toys are left at home. If these are used as transition items for students who may experience separation anxiety please let the educator know when you sign them in.
Where possible please avoid bringing backpacks. The less “stuff” students can bring the easier it will be to maneuver our groups through our “boutique” space. Please avoid sending a HUMUNGOUS backpack with a few floating lunch containers. Where possible, a lunch kit with a handle is really all the “luggage” your child needs.
What to Wear
Please send your child dressed in comfortable play clothing. Students will be participating in many energetic games as well as dance lessons; skirts are fine as long as students are wearing pants or shorts as well. Because students will also be participating in art activities, there is the risk of paint/ink/marker getting on your child’s clothing. Students with long hair will need to have it tied back out of their faces. Street shoes are not permitted on our dance floor; bare feet or dance shoes are more than welcome.
Please ensure to provide appropriate clothing for all weather including hats, umbrellas, boots, sunscreen and other important weather necessities for your child. It is always better to have more layers than less so that students can choose what will be comfortable during no matter if it’s warmer or cooler.
