ENTRY PROCEDURE
Parents will need to sign the daily waiver form located on the front door to indicate that they have done a self assessment of their child’s health prior to entering.
Parents are not allowed in the studio as we are reducing the number of adults in our space during Covid procedures.
Parents are allowed to enter the building and must take their child to the bathroom prior to starting class.
Once your child has been to the bathroom you can leave them at the door to the office and your child’s teacher will take them from there. (See below regarding separation anxiety).
Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to the start of your class.
Specific Class Dress Code
For the purposes of our class we ask that students wear:
- Footed tights or leggings/short
- Thin socks to be worn in their dance shoes, especially if they are borrowed from us
- T-shirt or body suit
- Dance skirts are fine provided that they don’t cover the knee. This is important for monitoring proper alignment.
- Long hair should be tied back and off of the face.
- Ballet Shoes
- Tap Shoes
Please see also the General Dress Code listed below.
RECITAL/FINAL PRESENTATIONS
*Covid Considerations*
Because of the Covid restrictions on number of people in our rooms we will be rethinking how we wrap up our classes with presentations this year. As soon as our plans are in place we will inform you. It is our goal to ensure that every student has a chance to perform their work at the end of each term.
Under Normal Circumstances
This class will have an opportunity to perform their term’s work at an informal recital/presentation on the last day of their class. Parents will be invited in to be the audience and we will celebrate all the hard work our students have accomplished.
In some cases some classes will have a formal recital as part of our WinterFest StageFest presentations in December and June respectively.
Your class presentation will always be on the last day of the program unless your class is participating in WinterFest or StageFest in which case you will receive additional dates.

GENERAL DRESS CODE
Students are required to wear dance or gym attire that covers them modestly when moving. We appreciate everyone’s unique style expression but must ensure that clothing doesn’t restrict movement required in class. Who knows when we’ll be upside and backwards some days?!
Ideal dress:
- yoga, sweatpants or leggings
- comfortable, modest top
- bare feet or dance shoes
- long hair tied up and off the face
- deodorant 🙂 (for those that are of the appropriate age)
For any specific class dress codes please see the information above. If there aren’t any the general dress code will apply.
DROP OFF & PICK UP
Drop off : COVID CHANGES* Students may be dropped off no earlier than 5 minutes prior to the start of the class. The doors will not be unlocked until this time and we cannot guarantee a staff member will be onsite if you arrive earlier. Students will be asked to maintain social distancing when arriving. We will be asking parents to remain outside of the studio for drop off. If there are first day nerves we will manage parent admittance on a case by case basis. Parents will wear masks, sanitize their hands upon entering and will remain socially distant.
Pick up: COVID CHANGES* Our teachers will be helping students prepare to leave class and will release them to you at the parking lot door. We will not release any child without an adult present.
Please be patient as we navigate our Pick Up and Drop Off strategies during Covid. Our number 1 priority is the health and safety of our students, staff and families. Having never encountered these issues before we will need time to navigate how to safely move students through our space using our safety plan.
PARENT SHARING
*Covid Considerations*
Because of the nature of our space we will be unable to host Parent Sharings in their usual format this year. Instead we will be creating a digital photo album for you to get a sneak peek every once in a while as to what we’ve been up to in class!
We thank you for understanding the changes we’ve had to make to accommodate the pandemic. We are looking forward to when we can return to our normal operations.
Under Normal Circumstances:
Some classes, not all, will often be invited to participate in the last 15 minutes of our class. You will be asked to join your child in activities that they have selected to share with you and your instructor will walk you through some of the educational and developmental benefits of the activity being explored in the class.
You will need to arrive 15 minutes early for pick up on Parent Sharing days. If your teacher would like you to come earlier they will let you know in advance. We ask that all students limit parent sharing to two guests per child as we are limited on space. Siblings are welcome to attend and participate but please be mindful of their willingness to participate without being a distraction to their sibling or other classmates.
