BrightLights: School Years
Welcome to BrightLights School Years; arts based classes for your school aged child that help busy families find convenient solutions for those late afternoons!
BrightLights is a school year round program that offers classes 5 days a week with convenient walking pick up from Qayqayt Elementary during the school year. Each class offers education in music, movement and dance, musical theatre, acting, art and yoga. You can choose between 3, 4 or 5* classes a week.
An Artsy Afternoon
Afternoon classes will include creative classes in a variety of different performing and visual arts subjects, as well as provide opportunities for quiet activities for those students who may need to decompress after their class.
Instructors are experienced educators in early childhood and school aged programming with a deep understanding of the importance of arts exposure in a child’s life. They are excited to deliver thoughtful classes that will benefit your child for years to come as well as provide a supportive learning environment.
We are also committed to building a community of parents and students and look forward to sharing different holiday and special events with you throughout the year.
We are currently seeking registrations and expressions of interests from Qayqayt families. Please explore the tabs and if these classes sound like a good fit for you please submit your information.
Please note that submitting a form is not a registration nor does it guarantee a space at this time. We will be contacting families as more information becomes available so please be sure to submit an accurate email so that you can be made aware when important updates are available.
*Priority is given to families who desire 4 and 5 Days a week.

- The walk from Qayqayt to our studio is 900 meters.
- Our walk includes a trip down Merrivale to Agnes where we will utilize the brand new greenway for safe walking.
- After crossing 4th and 6th Street using controlled crosswalks we will reach a staircase at the end of Agnes near Douglas College.
- The staircase will take us to Lorne Street and from there we're a short walk down the hill to the studio parking lot.
It is worth noting that our schedule allows for a 25 minute walk from the school. We have timed the walk ourselves and it usually takes 15 minutes. We've allowed extra time so that we aren't feeling rushed after our school day.

Please note that as we are a small after school program we are only accepting registrations for 4 and 5 day programs.

Tuition Inclusions
- After school classes for all instructional days
- Full day classes for Pro-D and Non-Instructional Days (For 4 & 5 day class sets only)
- Half day classes for early dismissal days (For 4 & 5 day class sets only)
- VIP registration access to Spring and Summer Break camps*
*Spring Break camps are offered at a reduced rate. Summer Camps are a separate charge not included in your BrightLights: School Years tuition.
Tuition Considerations
- Tuition is based on the number of instructional days in a school year as provided by the Qayqayt Elementary annual calendar.
- Tuition payments are divided equally over 10 months
- The payment remains the same each month regardless of the number of holidays or stats as this is what is easiest for families to budget with. You are not paying for holidays or stats.
- Tuition remains the same regardless of whether or not you choose to utilize the Pro-D/Non-Instructional Day and/or Early Dismissal/Half Day options.
Payment Requirements
- You must be enrolled in our AutoPay system so that we can charge your card on the 15th of each month.
- We do not accept payments for these classes via cheque or cash.
- Credit card fees have been removed but your credit card provider may still have its own applicable fees.
