Register to Audition for The Stage’s Senior Musical Theatre Program
We are now accepting applications to audition for our year-long musical theatre performance training program for students in Grade 10-12 (aged 15-18). If you will be entering Grade 10 or above this September, we strongly encourage you to register for an audition spot!
WHAT IT IS
This is a musical theatre training program that runs from September 2025 to June 2026 on Tuesday evenings from 5-8pm, with a multi-performance musical run in a professional theatre in the spring. It also involves a variety of performance learning opportunities throughout the year. Additional rehearsals and events may be involved. For more information on the program, please visit our website below.
WHEN AND WHERE
Sunday, June 22nd between 9am-4pm at The Stage Musical Theatre Academy, 50 Lorne St, New Westminster. You’ll be assigned a specific audition time via email after you register.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
1) An acting monologue from a play or musical that runs no longer than 1-2 minutes of performance time and showcases your acting skills. Please stick to the time limit and make some strong choices!
2) A 16-32 bar cut (no longer than 1 minute of sing time) of a musical theatre song that showcases your singing—you will be asked to upload an audio file of your backing track when you receive your audition time. There will be a speaker to play your backing track in the room, but there will not be an accompanist. Please pick the section that suits your voice and abilities best!
3) Come dressed and warmed-up for a dance call (jazz shoes, dance shoes/slippers, bare feet, or socks with grip are the only footwear allowed on the dance floor). We know this can sound intimidating, but with us it really is nothing to worry about. You will learn a short combo in a small group and dance it through. We’re taking note of your enthusiasm, motivation, and self-kindness, in addition to dance technique. Please connect with us if you have any accessibility accommodations needed for a dance call.
